Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a great way for community members to share the bounty of local farms. The structure of paying early in the year helps farmers with the up-front costs in early spring. Loads of compost, seeds, soil amendments, tools, and fabrics to keep plants warm all cost a pretty penny! The customer supports the farmer with money (or trades), and the farmer supports their customer with beautifully crafted produce week after week. In the early months of your CSA (June and July) you can expect leafy greens, herbs, root vegetables, scallions, fennel, and more. In the height of summer (August and September) you can expect tomatoes, zucchini, basil, eggplants, peppers, cucumbers, lettuces, and more. In the fall and last month of CSA (October) you can expect winter squash, broccoli, kohlrabi, napa cabbage, herbs, and more. Each season brings a unique variety of produce along with unique challenges! We love to say that the moto of CSA is “share the risk, share the reward”.

Pickups for the Future Craft CSA will be held at our farm in Glendale on Monday evenings from 4pm-8pm. We want you to come and see the space that you are helping us cultivate! Come grab your bounty of freshly harvested produce, hang out with your farmers and your new friends, eat some snacks, and enjoy the urban oasis we’ve created.

In farming, there are inherent risks that come along with this highly skilled, and often magical, job. Pests, weeds, drought, germination, and soil fertility are some of the constant battles farmers face. At Future Craft we take a regenerative approach to all these things. We attract beneficial insects with flowering annuals and perennials, never using any kind of pesticide (organic certified or not-no matter what they contain, if they kill one “bad” bug, they kill all the bugs!). We hand pull all our weeds, utilizing companion planting and intensive spacing to crowd out the weeds. And we use drip irrigation to water all of our growing areas. Battling all these constant pressures only makes the harvest more special; just know your food was grown and cared for with the utmost love and admiration!

Need financial assistance or interested in a payment plan? Shoot us an email. We want our produce to be accessible to as many friends as possible. We also love trades! Tattoos, haircuts, bread, baked goods, labor, bicycles, mechanic lessons, skill shares, small engine repair, etc!
