Who we are *

Future Craft Farm is Rachael and Soni’s passion project, where a love of carefully curated textiles, friendship, crafts, and of course, food, all connect. Rachael and Soni met in the summer of 2022 on a small urban farm in Salt Lake City. Their love of utilitarian cycling, sewing, cooking, and community involvement made them fast friends. 3 years later they started a farm and haven of their own - a half-acre farm in Glendale, SLC.

When people ask, “what do you grow"?” we say, “a little bit of everything!” We grow tomatoes, peppers, worms, zucchini, onions, scallions, community, leafy greens, fennel, herbs, lettuces, beans, eggplants, cucumbers, the list goes on! We also have fruit trees, dye plants, herbs for tea, native water-wise plants, perennials, and a gaggle of hens for fresh eggs.

Future Craft Farm uses regenerative practices, a farming philosophy based around soil health. The foundations of this practice are no/low till, biodiversity, and keeping the soil planted as much as possible. It is a “new” farming practice compared to the extractive methods used today in the majority of farms in the United States. However, taking care of the soil, encouraging insects, companion planting, and a large crop selection are anything but new!! Regenerative farming is all about continuing education, skill sharing, and learning from practices used by Indigenous peoples all over the world.

We want Future Craft to be a place for our community to thrive. A place for our friends and neighbors to learn about a resilient and connected future. Have a dream of something you want to see in our community? Need a place to host an event? Send us an email, we would love to collaborate on a future we are all proud of :)
